SEO Success: How Healthcraft Boosted GenAge’s Local Search Rankings by 530%
GenAge Center is a longevity and hormone medicine practice in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. As a new medical practice, GenAge aimed to promote their services and increase visibility on local search for the services they offered, including hormone replacement therapy, DEXA scans, VO2 max testing, and more.
GenAge Center began working with Healthcraft as they prepared to launch their practice. Healthcraft assisted GenAge with an overall marketing strategy, including campaign creation, establishing a social media presence, print collateral for their practice, print ads and more. After launch, the focus shifted more heavily to increasing local brand awareness and capturing local search traffic to increase their patient load.
The Challenge: Appearing in Local Search
As a brand-new medical practice near Grand Rapids, GenAge faced a challenge: how to stand out when potential patients are unaware of your business. They needed to improve their local search rankings to compete with established clinics.
Beginning in July 2024, Healthcraft implemented a full SEO strategy that would help GenAge capture leads from potential patients with high buying intent.
Our Approach: SEO Best Practices
Healthcraft Creative Solutions implemented across-the-board best practices for SEO that were designed to improve local search results and appearance in AI-driven search. This approach focused on both front-end and back-end best practices, including:
Technical SEO – From schema markups, XML sitemaps and clean URL structures, Healthcraft helped ensure that the GenAge Center site structure was optimized to make it easier for search engines to crawl and index the pages.
On-Page SEO – In order to help individual pages rank higher for specific keywords and to be more likely to appear in AI-driven searches, Healthcraft performed keyword research to determine what potential patients were searching for related to GenAge’s services. We optimized all title tags and meta descriptions to help search engines understand the pages’ content. We also used header tags correctly to help search engines understand the pages’ hierarchies.
Content Creation – Creating high-quality, relevant and engaging content helped naturally incorporate relevant keywords into the GenAge website. In collaboration with GenAge, we selected blog topics that were focused on their most important keywords. For each blog, we used a combination of primary keywords, semantic keywords, long-tail keywords and local keywords to keep it both engaging for readers and optimized for search engines and AI-driven search.
Off-Page SEO – To help build GenAge’s website authority and reputation, we worked on a link-building strategy that helped us establish high-quality backlinks from reputable websites. Additionally, we promoted keyword-optimized blog content on social media to drive traffic to the website and improve brand visibility.

When comparing July 2024 to March 2025, the results are clear.
